Why Shop at Ageless Rugs?
If you’re looking for promotions, inventory liquidations, sales, going out of business sales, big discounts, two rugs for the price of one, and the like, you will have come to shop at the wrong place.
When you hear of an event offering huge discounts (say, 40% off) you should ask yourself, 40% off WHAT? Think about it. After spending a fortune advertising this sort of event while still paying overhead and so forth what kind of profit could one expect to make? The answer is little to none. Unless, of course, the products are marked up to the extent that offering 40% off still allows for a handsome profit. The same is true with a dealer who offers you a “deal”. If he offers a large discount you can assume that the “asking price” is inflated in the first place.
Essentially, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Dealers have been known to open a rug store, have a big grand opening sale, then slide quickly into a going out of business one.
If the rugs appear cheap, it’s because they are. Merchandise is brought in specifically to mark up heavily while being sold at “low prices”. The prices are low because the merchandise isn’t worth much or anything. It’s usually consigned and they simply ship anything back that doesn’t sell. They’re certainly taking no loss. Aside from a few loss leaders they’ll be making a very nice profit, thanks to misleading you. Sometimes these dealers conclude a going out of business sale only to reopen at another location under a different name and repeat the process.
Our prices are displayed and they are “the right price”.
We don’t mark up to mark down or give “deals”. Our last store wide sale was years ago. We spent a fortune on advertising. We offered what we could, a 15% discount, hoping that the volume of sales would compensate for this discount . This discount was not perceived as being significant and we lost money. It seems many are conditioned to think that a sale is not a sale unless it offers large discounts.
These are rugs that we’ve had in stock for quite some time and simply would like to redeem some cash from (even if we’re making no profit).
We’re happy to show these rugs to you. As with any of our rugs, you’re still welcome to view them at home before making a decision. We’re members of the Better Business Bureau and in our 15 years of being in business (we opened in November of 1997) have never had a single complaint. Come see what we have to offer and expect to never overpay.
